Terms of Use
Last updated 14 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Sweeet ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Sweeet.
1. What Sweeet is
Sweeet is a place for people in New Zealand to list, find and talk about road vehicles: cars, SUVs, utes, vans, trucks, motorbikes and motorhomes. We are not the buyer or seller of any car, we don't hold money, and we aren't part of any sale. Every sale is between the buyer and the seller.
Vehicle details (make, model, WOF or COF, road user charges, money owing and so on) come from third-party sources based on the plate. We try to keep them accurate but can't promise they are complete or current. Always check the car yourself.
Before you buy, do your own PPSR check for money owing (ppsr.govt.nz), and have the vehicle inspected by someone you trust.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old and in New Zealand. You can only have one account, and the details you give us must be true.
Keep your email and sign-in codes private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
3. Listing a vehicle
Listings must be road-going vehicles with a current New Zealand registration plate, because every listing's details come from its plate. Boats, jet skis, trailers without a plate, parts, accessories and other items can't be listed, and we remove them.
You can only list a vehicle you own or are allowed to sell, and you must choose the right vehicle type. Your price, odometer reading, photos and description must be honest and up to date. Mark it as sold, or delete it, once it's gone.
If you sell vehicles as a business, you must say so, and the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Fair Trading Act and the Motor Vehicle Sales Act may apply to you.
By posting photos and text, you let us show them in the app and in links to your listing for as long as the listing is up. You still own them.
4. Things you must not do
Don't post anything false, misleading, stolen, illegal, abusive, hateful or sexual. Don't scam, threaten or harass anyone. Don't ask for deposits or payment before the buyer has seen the car. Don't send spam or links to other payment or chat services to get around Sweeet.
Don't copy, scrape or resell data from the app, or try to break, overload or get around its security.
5. Safety, reports and removing content
You can report listings, people and messages, and block anyone. We review reports and may remove listings, limit features, or suspend or ban accounts that break these terms, with or without notice.
To help keep people safe we limit how many listings and new chats an account can start each day, and we may scan messages for common scam signs and show a warning.
6. Fees
Sweeet is free to use right now, including the vehicle check. If we add paid extras later, we'll show the price clearly before you pay.
7. Our responsibility
We provide the app "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for the vehicles, the people you deal with, or any loss from a sale, and our total liability to you is limited to $100.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act where those laws apply and can't be excluded.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close accounts that break these terms. Some records are kept for a limited time, as set out in the Privacy Policy. See how to delete your account.
9. Changes and New Zealand law
We may update these terms. If a change is important we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree again.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
